First trip, first day, first impressions of Disney

Well, the first time to Disney, the first day, the first time to Magic Kingdom and they close the park not 4 cars ahead of us. We were NOT in the first 70,000 people into the park! Oh well, diverted to Animal Kingdom and lunch was 50%off!! Not the start to Disney we all dreamed of but turned out to be a good first day.

Overheard at the Circus

For Paige's sixth birthday we surprised her with a trip to Ringling Brothers Circus at the All State Arena. Despite her week long affliction with a mild temperature, we went to the Grateast Show on Earth!! The kids had a blast and at some point the male gymnasts came out in their flame design leggings but bare chested. At this point, Quinn yells out, :Those boys are naked!!!" The teenage girls in the row ahead of us, just about wet themselves!!

Awe moments

After a small sprinkling on Nov 7, 2011, as I was loading Quinn into the car, I drew a heart on his window. When I got in the car, he said, "Thanks Dad. That made me feel really happy.". Insert awe here!

Fangshed's Halloween Bash

It was once again an epic Halloween party hosted by the Fangshed's in the spookiest garage in Brookfield. The steamed hot doggies and polish sausages, the chili dump, the treat table from heaven! Paige went as Dorothy, Quinn was again a soccer ball, mom was a beer keg and dad was a king. The kids were chilled but made it through, watched some outdoor movies, ate a ton of junk and the parents got their party on too. Great costumes, good friends, plentiful food and drink and fun for all!

Finale soccer game and Paige is en fuego!

The Green Goblin soccer season ended with Pele Paige netting 2 more goals! She was a super jet racing from offense back to defense! She did a terrific job and again shared the goal production lead with a Niego sister, but his time it was Catalina. The Green Goblins won 5-2 to finish the season at .500 of 4-4. Great job Paige, we are so proud of you and all the work you put into the season. We were happy to celebrate with the team with some green goblin jello eyeballs, hot apple cider, apple slices and goldfish.

Athletic and dramatic!?!

Well, after six games Paige finally got on board with he idea of playing on he offensive side of he field. She spent an entire quarter racing from one end of he Imelda to the other getting all Lionel Messi on the other team as she put away two goals! She accounted for half the teams goals, as Izzy had the other two on the way to a 4-3 win. The best was after scoring her first goal, she took off running and was back to the midfield line before anyone else on the field, just like a professional! Way to go Paige!

Wise six year old graduate

After a terrific kindergarten graduation ceremony we made ourt way to the preschool graduation where Quinn would be acting as a "back-up singer." Near the end of the graduation ceremony, Paige who is just a year removed from the exact ceremony had the audacity to say, "they are obviously not ready for this." She is quite the pistol.

From the mouths of babes . . .

When I told the kids to say goodnight to Mommy, the kindergarten graduate belted out, "Goodnight Mommy!" and as Mommy told them to hold on a sec while she moved something, the ever witty kindergarterner graduate followed it up with, "Goodnight Mommy's beer!"

Educational and fun!!

Over the holiday break, we took a family trip including Umpa to the Oaklawn Kids Museum. Both kids had a great time exploring, playing, experimenting. Quinn spent most of the the time in the mock grocery store, checking out his items, reshelving and repeating.
At some point in time, they both ended up in the dress up area. Paige tried on everything and Quinn went straight for the light up, plastic high heels for the princess outfit!! Nuff said.

The future of my beloved son!!!

At preschool today, Ms. Erin was asking all of the preschoolers what they wanted to be when they grow up. Answers varied from secret agent to police man to teacher. Then we get to my little man . . .

Cinderella!! Can I just say, I am proud that at three and half he has taken the time to consider his options but not sure I am ready to help make any ball gowns at this ppoint!

The mighty eater!!!

By now I should have thousands of posts about Paige Rae and her "hollow leg" thanks to her Swedish Torsberg genes. The girl eats everything and even tries things she previously has dismissed. After dinner just last week, Mommy asked her if she wanted anything else? Her response, "No, I am all done Mommy. Wait, what do you mean?!?!?!" Heaven forbid should Mommy be trying to sneak dessert past her!! What a nose for food!
